Comedy for a Cause is here!

Get ready to laugh because Comedy for a Cause is back in the Shire at several locations this June.

Sutherland Shire Radio is hosting an event at Cronulla RSL on Saturday 14 June, with all proceeds going to Sutherland Shire Radio

Gymea Gorillas is hosting an event at Tradies Gymea also on Saturday 14 June, with all proceeds going to Gymea Junior Rugby League Football Club.

Bonnet Bay Public School is hosting an event at the school on Friday 27 June, with all proceeds directly supporting the school and students.

Don’t miss out – tickets won’t last! Round up your mates and book in for a night of big laughs for a great cause. Tix for all locations here.

Shire Vintage and Collectables Fair

Looking for something fun to do this King’s Birthday long weekend? Don’t miss the Shire Vintage and Collectables Fair on Sunday, June 8, at Sutherland Basketball Stadium from 9am–4pm.

With over 60 stalls, you’ll find everything from estate jewellery and vintage toys to retro records, books, and military memorabilia.

Entry is just $6 for adults (kids are free with an adult), and all funds go to support local and global Rotary projects, including helping local students through the Schoolmates program.

Got something interesting at home? Licensed valuer Sam Buxton will be on-site offering valuations for $5 per item. Plus, there’ll be classic car displays, barista coffee, and hot food to enjoy.

It’s a relaxed and fascinating day out—perfect for treasure hunters, collectors, or anyone who loves a good browse for a good cause!

Sydney Airport Lost Property Auction

Not Shire-related, but still cool. Sydney Airport’s much-loved Lost Property Auction is back for 2025, and it’s full of surprises!

With over 2,000 unclaimed items up for grabs—think laptops, perfumes, jewellery, gaming consoles, and even a giant teddy bear or a frying pan—you never know what gem you might find. Bidding starts at just $10, and it’s all happening online thanks to Theodore Bruce Auctioneers.

The best part? Every dollar raised goes toward free swimming lessons and water safety programs for local families doing it tough, run by the Inner West Council’s Aquatics team. Sydney Airport has already chipped in $100,000 to kick things off and hopes the auction will raise another $200,000—that’s around 12,000 free lessons for kids who really need them.

Auctions close between June 9–12, depending on the category, so there’s plenty of time to browse. It’s a great way to snag a bargain and support a cause that helps local kids stay safe and confident in the water.
